DIFFICULTY:- EXCEPT FOR A STEEP CLIMB NEAR THE START THE ROUTE PRESENTS ONLY MEDIUM DIFFICULTY. |
1. Fit people could explore this route by mountain bike. The start is in the rambla of Las Balsicas to the North of Puerto de Mazarron.
2. Following the rambla, take a right turn. The track starts to climb to Cabezo de la Oliva towards the foothills of La Lomachon.
3. At Fuente de al Alemada the path forks but both alternatives finish at El Mingrano. The left turn follows the watercourse of Hoya de los Morenos and onwards to El Mingrano.
4. The alternative path to the right follows a forest road in very good condition and passes to the East of the mountain of El Lomachon, again before finishing at El Mingrano.
5. A large number of ravines cross this area in which are found varied vegetation such as hawthorns, palmettos and mastic trees.
6. There is a splendid view of Puerto de Mazarron and the surrounding countryside from here.
7. There is a secondary track here which diverts towards the campsite at Las Torres and then to the road from Cartagena to Puerto de Mazarron.
